Welcome to the Upper Innviertel/Flachgau region
In the tri-border area where Upper Austria, Salzburg and Bavaria converge, is a region that has a lot to offer its guests. Lush nature, extensive culinary delights and eco-tourism. Hills, lush green medows, quiet forests, some of the warmest lakes for swimming and Austria's largest moor complex are located here. In 2010 the region was honored with the European "EDEN Award", the most important prize for sustainable tourism.
The art of brewing beer, cider and high-quality brandy production, as well as traditional livestock farming characterize the cuisine. Here, small farms produce high quality foods, very often according to organic standards. The Flachgau region is also the largest continuous pasture-fed milk region in Europe.
